Fans, Friends, & Fiends

As I've said many times in the past, Hollywood Vampires fans are freakin' cool.  Talking and writing back and forth with them provides me with endless enjoyment, and they help make the Hollywood Vampires experience a tremendous amount of fun for me.  They also give me ideas, make helpful suggestions, proofread for me, shamelessly shill Unholy War and this website, create great artwork, and do so many other things to enrich and enliven the Hollywood Vampires universe, and I am forever in the debt of the people who've devoted their time, effort, and love to the Vampires.

The fans are a very important part of the Hollywood Vampires to me, and for that reason, I've created this particular section of the website, where the fans can join in the fun and have a part of the Realm devoted solely to them.  If you're a fan of the Hollywood Vampires and have a pic of yourself in a Hollywood Vampires or rock 'n roll-related moment, feel free to submit them, and I'll be more than happy to add 'em up here for the world to see . . . it's the least I can do for all the enjoyment and help you guys have given me over the years!  Just be sure to be tasteful . . . while Stacey might think it was funny to send in a picture of his ass painted up like Richard Nixon, I probably wouldn't post it here, if only to maintain the illusion of relative good taste around here.  Of course, some would say that I completely destroyed that illusion when I declared that I was a Spice Girls fan, but I'll leave that debate for another day . . .

If you'd like to make a submission for the fan section, simply send me the pic at my e-mail address . . . if the souless computer gods are feeling cooperative on that day, it'll get through and I'll post your pic as soon as I can!

Alda K As Donita
Here's Alda K dressed up as Donita, her favorite Hollywood Vampire!  Along with striking a few gypsy poses and posing with her main man Stephen, she's also displaying one of her favorite pieces of literature ... I must say, she's got good taste, doesn't she?

Hanging Out & Stuff
Donita (Alda K) and Katheryne (Rachel M) hanging out ... one wonders where a certain rat is.  Likely up to no good! Katheryne (Rachel M) and Tommy (Stephen L) striking a quick pose, Tommy looking sardonic as usual! I wonder who Tommy (Stephen L) feels the need to lecture?  I'm going to wager that it's not Wade.

Random Fandom: Various Pics of Various Fiends in Various Places
Here's a pic of Hollywood Vampires reader and enthusiast Celtic (aka Dave) enjoying some of his favorite literature in the comfort of his lair.  There's another Dave-sighting in the next section below, where he gets done up Vampire-style with one of his pals.  And his room isn't that messy . . . you can still see the floor! Up above you'll see longtime Vampires reader and music guru Derek Tatum hanging out with Lennon Murphy, frontwoman of Lennon, following a show . . . Derek's been a supporter and pal for years now, and because Derek's shirt's cool as hell! Overhead you see the grinning visages of one Stephen Lebeck and Katie Phillips, showing off their copies of a particular piece of reading material, which some of you may be quite familiar with!  I'm sure Stephen's familiar with it, seeing as how he's helped sell at least a half-dozen copies of it to interested fanged folk, for which the Vampires (not to mention myself) are very grateful!
It's Dave! Or Is It Stacey? Or Is It Dave?!

Here's Dave again, this time dressed in a manner similar to Stacey (who I think just might be one of his favorites!), proudly sporting his custom-made Hollywood Vampires t-shirt.  Pretty cool, ain't it?  He was kind enough to send Nathan and I ones just like it, too . . . now that's really cool!

Behold!  The first Hollywood Vampires-related tattoo!  This image of the one and only Mary Louis Swafford is proudly sported by Pete Benes, one of my old college cronies and a good pal.  Though he is known to dress up like Yogi Bear from time to time.  Pretty freakin' cool, huh?

Here's the esteemed Mr. Benes again, this time busily enjoying a certain piece of vampire literature, probably while listening to his music waaaaaaay too loud, if I know Pete.  Guy's got a Hollywood Vampires tattoo AND reads good books, so what's a little excessive racket, eh?

It's Time For Costume Fun!
Starring Megami Jadeheart As Donita!
It's stuff like this that makes this whole thing so much fun!  Recently a couple of devoted Hollywood Vampires fans decided to get into the Vampire spirit and do some non-Halloween dressing up, and then took pics and sent me the results, which you can see above.  The star of the show is Megami Jadeheart, one of the two singers of the newly-formed Insane Medley, who got all vamped out in the style of the cockiest, mouthiest gypsy of them all, Donita!  As if the excellent purple gypsy ensemble (including streaks in her hair for authenticity) and not-quite-so-innocent fanged grin aren't good enough indicators to figure it out on your own, eh?  Along with "Donita" is dedicated Hollywood Vampires fiend Dave, aka Tirin Hearts, the other singer of Insane Medley, who is done up as the other Hollywood Vampires bigmouth, Stacey!  While it's true that the hair's a bit shorter than Stacey's generally is, but the outfit's very right, and the sly "I didn't do a damned thing and you can't prove it, so nyah nyah!" smirk is perfect, if you ask me.  In the picture with the two of them together, they give the impression that they've just gotten into something, probably a something involving a fire or an explosion, and now they're doing their best to hide their guilt by putting on a "nice" facade.  Just remember, the only thing worse than Donita and Stacey at odds is the two of them working and conspiring with one another . . .  Also appearing is a fellow named Pete, who was nice enough to be the victim for a hungry half-vampire, though his screaming face makes one wonder if he knew exactly what he was getting into!  I can just see Katheryne shaking her head right now, making the comment that Donita should have at least stuffed a sock in her victim's mouth to muffle the screams . . .  And what's even better is that this is only the beginning for this little crew of Hollywood Vampires fiends, as at the moment they're looking to get dressed up and parade around as the Hollywood Vampires at the upcoming Otakon anime convention in July, with the intent to not only have fun, but to raise awareness of the Hollywood Vampires as much as they can!  And they're also getting a stuffed Stephen put together, too . . . how cool is that?  I can't even put it into words how awesome all of that is and how much I appreciate the support these guys are lending, and how much fun it is to hear their schemes and see the pictures . . . screw the checks and cash, stuff like this is why I keep writing!  I'd like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Megami, Dave, Pete, and everybody else involved with the above photo session, as you guys really made my day and reminded me just why I love writing the Vampires so much.  Rock on, guys!  Thanks a million!

Costume Fun, Part II
Starring Ryan Lebeck As Dorian!

Who says who have to wait until Halloween to dress up as a vampire?  It seems that Ryan Lebeck (brother of Stephen, seen up towards the top of the page) could care less about following the conventions of annual costuming and decided to make an appearance as one of Hollywood's most notorious charmers, Dorian!  As you can see, he's got Dorian's style of dress down quite well (I don't think Dorian even owns very many actual shirts, truth be told), and he seems to simply be hanging out, cool and collected, waiting for the right moment to make a move on a lady . . . and probably hoping that Stacey's nowhere nearby!

Danita The Gypsy!

Danita Cowen, Gypsy!

The Patented Look of Doom!

Up above you see Danita Cowen (cool name, huh?), Hollywood Vampires reader and Halloween gypsy, back from walking her kids around in search of sweet, sweet Halloween candy, doing her imitation of the Vampires' resident gypsy and rat-mommy.  She says she used two cans of purple hairspray on her hair, but it's so dark that the purple hardly showed up, but her intentions were quite good . . . magickal hair-coloring usually shows up better than hairspray, so if anybody can spare some for her next Halloween outing, let her know!  I especially liked the pic on the right, which is the patented Look of Doom (tm) that only a mom can unleash on command . . . having been on the receiving end of more than a few in my day, I know one when I see one!  Thanks for the pics, Danita, and hope you managed to snag a lot of Halloween loot . . . and hopefully you had better common sense than I, as I usually gorge on it and then feel sick the next day!

The Vampire Sabrina

One of the local rock radio stations around where I live is 99X, and they happen to have an avid vampire fan and Hollywood Vampires reader working there!  Her name's actually Amanda, but she's also known as Sabrina, and above you can see some pics of her having fun with some pals at 99X's 2004 Halloween party while at the same time proving that the cape is still a viable fashion accessory if you know how to wear it!  It's a pity that the only day of the year you can run around in a cape and get away with it is Halloween . . . if you gallop around town in a cape any other day, you usually end up getting dragged off and put away somewhere quiet.  Thanks for sharing the pics, Sabrina, and glad to have you aboard as a Hollywood Vampires reader!
