Unholy War Part I -- The Crucifixion, Sections I & II

In Los Angeles, vampires are dying. Brutalized and hung upon crosses, an ancient mark scrawled upon the walls behind them in their own blood, the broken bodies are a terrorized scream back to a more savage time and place amongst the immortals, and are totally uncharacteristic of the modern, enlightened vampires of the coast city. Nobody knows who's doing it, or why, but little time is given to retrospection on the matter when the threat reveals itself: the resurrection of a fanatical vampire cult that has reached through the centuries and brought its madness to Los Angeles near the end of the 20th century. Thus begins the battle between the ferocious fanged champions of Hollywood and the bloodthirsty zealots of the Crimson Order, lead by a mad megalomaniac whose goal is the utter destruction and subjugation of the 'impure heretics' of the city. The stakes are high, no quarter will be given, and when the dust settles, only one side shall remain standing; the victors will have the city, while the losers will have death . . . this unholy war is for keeps.

Check out what Kevin Steele, lead singer of Roxx Gang and a huge inspiration for the Hollywood Vampires, had to say about Unholy War . . . (thanks a million, Kevin!)

Since I was a young kid I've always felt a certain affinity for vampires, I've even dabbled with the subject in a few of my songs. For years songwriters and novelists alike have found the rock 'n roll / vampire connection irresistible and I have hungrily devoured all I could find of both. Imagine my thrill to find a new Nosferatu, named Steele no less, in an adventure based in part on one of my own songs. Just when I thought this ride couldn't get any cooler! I must say I was very flattered and when Matt contacted me and told me that "Night Run" ( the aforementioned adventure ) had become a catalyst for a novel and asked if he could use some of my lyrics in the foreword; I immediately gave him my blessings. Hollywood Vampires: Unholy War was the result and what an outstanding first effort. I look forward with great anticipation to Matt's future works and have no doubt he will mature into quite an author. So, check it out, because you can't live on sex, drugs and rock 'n roll alone ( I know I've tried ). Gotta feed your mind sometimes. Read a book! Really, read this book.
