For over 10 years now, the Hollywood Vampires have stood outside the circle, shunned by traditional publishing houses and agents -- because NOBODY knows what to make of them.

I'm NOT kidding. I've tried selling my unique vampire stories to at least 73 different publishers and agents since 1998, and I've gotten nowhere fast. I always hear the same old song and dance ...

"Your stories are too FUNNY -- vampire stories aren't supposed to be funny!"

"Why aren't your characters all gothic and brooding and stuff? They act too -- HUMAN!"

"This shit's too MODERN! What's all this rock 'n roll crap? Where's the fluffy shirts and poetry?"

And my personal favorite ...

"Vampire fiction is DEAD. Nobody buys it anymore!"

Guess nobody bothered to tell Stephanie Meyer or Laurell K. Hamilton that, eh? They seem to be doing pretty good for themselves writing -- you guessed it -- VAMPIRE STORIES!

Apparently all of the fine folks -- around the WORLD -- that have been buying Hollywood Vampires books since 2001 didn't get the memo, either. That's fine by me ... I think it's hilarious.

I've been told "NO!" by so many people supposedly IN the "know" -- who've told me that I need to change my writing style, my characters, my stories ... EVERYTHING. But my problem is that I'm stubborn -- and I've got a small, but growing, legion of fans that keep reading my vampire stories and encourage me at every step. Not only do I know for a fact that people read the Hollywood Vampires books and stories -- I know they LOVE them.

Why should I change my original, DIFFERENT vampire stories to satisfy some suit that wants to sell the next brooding fluffy-shirt vampire clone? Why should I compromise my vision when it's already delighting readers from around the world? I'm HAPPY doing something different, I'm very proud of the fact that ...

I'm writing the vampire stories that NOBODY else is -- the Hollywood Vampires ain't your mommy and daddy's vampires.

The Hollywood Vampires have tangled with a foul-mouthed, super-destructive CHUPACABRA.

I've got a story where a vampire, werewolf, and zombie go TRICK-OR-TREATING together.

One of my most beloved characters is a very intelligent PURPLE RAT the size of a housecat.

My vampire stories range from ultra-bloody MAYHEM -- to dark and serious -- to action-packed ADVENTURE -- to laugh-out-loud HILARIOUS ... many of them contain all those elements and MORE.

I did a wonderfully violent tie-in to From Dusk Till Dawn, a thoughtful Crow crossover, and a really vulgar Scooby-Doo parody ... all three of which you can read for FREE on this site.

I'm not famous. I don't drive a fancy car. I work a "real" full-time job. But I LOVE to write vampire stories -- it's my calling in life. The Hollywood Vampires books are published through a small, independent publisher, and I sell them myself ... a LOT cheaper than you'll find at other places. I don't care how many times I get told "NO!" -- I'm going to keep writing as long as I've got readers like you.

I'm working towards the ultimate goal of being able to write for a living, not only for its own sake, but so I can devote the majority of my time to writing -- what else? -- vampire stories. I write other things -- from horror novels to supernatural romances -- but the Hollywood Vampires are my babies, and the loyalty from the readers is unbelievable.

Even when I've had to take months away from writing new vampire stories because of other things going on in my life, the fans never give up on me or the Hollywood Vampires, and I love 'em for it.

Just when I start to get discouraged or burnt-out, I'll get a letter telling me how...

"The Thing In Stacey's Garage" or "Arizona Indian Doll" gave them a much-needed laugh

"A Madwoman Scorned" or "Insomnia" gave them the courage to stand up to a big problem in their lives.

A truly wonderful gal from South Africa read the Unholy War novel to a sick relative in the hospital, to ease their boredom and make the time go by quicker -- COOL!

I'm totally serious when I say that when it comes right down to it ...

Even if I don't get rich ... YOU make it all worthwhile.
